Fun Internet Finds!!

Sometimes I find things on the Internet that give me hope, a lot of the times they just make me sad. Like, SO many mean people on the interwebs, what is that about? It feels a lot better to be nice you know. ANYWAYS here are some of my favorite things from the internet lately. (NU UH THIS IS NOT A CURRENTLY POST I SOLEMLY SWEAR!)

First of all, I have stopped making my own playlists + follow almost exclusively whatever Kati Rose is listening to. EXCEPT THAT I DISCOVERED THIS PLAYLIST.
YES THAT IS RIGHT. ALL. GILMORE GIRLS. where you leaaaad I will followwwwww

Aaaaaanyways. So that's a thing. It's my go to reading playlist. Just because then I can pretend I really am Rory Gilmore.... By the by, I'm already halfway through the second Outlander book, in case you wanted to know. I started it yesterday + couldn't stop. hashtag sunday. funday.
I've been trying out Sarah's list of instagram hashtags for bloggers not to see if I can get two hundred likes, but for SCIENCE obviously............. (or for people to tell me my instagrams are pretty. no, FOR SCIENCE.)
A photo posted by Kasey Decker (@kdsmoove) on
OKAYGUYSLOOK. I really wanted this post to be longer, but my computer is throwing a pretty impressive temper tantrum. I have to cut it short before I throw it out the window..... What fun things have you found on the internets lately? Any good baby animal videos? Those are my favorites..

15 Things I Learned Halfway Through 30 Days at the Barre

HELLO WORLD. I am on day 16 of this ridiculous 30 Days at the Barre thing. What on earth were we thinking? Oh yeah "let's get real toned before March is over so we look like babes for bikini season
barre addict meet me at the barre

  1. I'm really a lot stronger than I thought I was. Like, I have muscles instead of spaghetti noodle arms. Don't tell the boys though, they'll start making me lift heavier things...
  2. There's no such thing as too many gym clothes. Please send me more. Anyone want to sponsor the second half of my 30 days at the barre adventure? I'll take more pictures.
  3. I'm a bad blogger, I didn't take a before picture. I did take a "halfway" picture. So, that will count.
  4. You should smile in you before picture too. No one is ever smiling in their before pictures. I think that's silly. I think that smiling makes your face skinnier anyways. If that's important or whatever.
  5. I'm happy that I decided to do this. I feel incredible. I actually have more energy. Which is probably weird, but I think that I like having the routine more than anything.
  6. I really can make friends with anyone. I like my new barre friends because we can all laugh at ourselves when we can't quite bend the way that the instructor wants us to.
  7. I'm addicted to herbal tea. In addition to my daily coffee + gallon of water, now I'm hooked on infusion teas. Caffeine for days y'all.
  8. Gym memberships are only expensive if you don't use them. It hurts less to think of them in terms of how much you're paying per class rather than per month. Also that motivates you to take more classes to get a higher ROI. ta da!
  9. You can put your sticky socks in the dryer! I was scared to wash mine, so I had to take a post class poll because I didn't want to ruin my sticky socks. haha
  10. Ugg boots are easier than sneakers. I'm sure in the summer it will be flippy floppies. But currently it's Ugg boots all day every day. Even though they don't come up high enough to meet my yoga capris.
  11. Old Navy yoga pants are just as good as those $100 ones. BUT I REALLY WANT THE LULULEMON TECH MESH. (that's my reward for finishing the 30 days, if when I finish the 30 days. if Lululemon decides to restock them, I'm not paying $150 for an $88 pair of leggings. that's dumb)
  12. EVERYONE loves to be complimented on their workout gear. And their workout. It's so much fun to see everyone kicking ass.
  13. cliche comment about the barre family being a community here.
  14. Your muscles will actually be less sore if you work them more******* (I am in absolutely no way qualified to tell you what's best for your workout or body or anything. I just know that my muscles hurt less the more I work them. please don't hurt yourself on my account. I like you too much.)
  15. workouts are more fun if you're smiling! don't take it so seriously -- have fun
There it is! What I've learned in the first fifteen days of being a crazy person. Now, for those of you saying "oh my god you're going to hurt yourself without a rest day!" we do take Thursdays for a yoga flow type class -- that's more stretching, less tucking. Just to keep us from dying. NOW I know you've already entered to win $300 to Antrhopologie, so I know you're not going to win my $105 in cash right?  I guess if you win, you can sponsor my last 15 days!

My Completely Reasonable Birthday List

So, today my mom asked me what I wanted for my birthday, because I'm turning old on Thursday. So I figured in honor of my birthday week I'd like to share my completely reasonable birthday wish list. I hope you're ready!
is it just me, or does nothing top 21st birthday pictures?
a job that I love that also pays for said house + puppy.
an occasion to wear this dress from Rent The Runway (full disclosure, that second link is a referral code, but you can get like $10 off your first rental!)
a nice pair of earrings (with a solid back because I always only lose one. I have a drawer full of mismatched earrings.)
dream jeep wrangler
everything in my Pinterest closet.
all of the Barre classes
another Eurotrip ;; I'm thinking Ireland or Munich for Oktoberfest....
tickets to all of the Shaky festivals this summer (Knees AND Boots)
UGA Football season tickets + a hotel for the season.

I think that's about it. If you're going to get me the jeep (you really should) could you give me a little heads up before I pay my birthday tax to renew my tag? Awesome. What's on your birthday wishlist?

Top Five Ways To Win Your Tacky Sweater Party

Okay, so in all fairness, I had this post planned for Friday but I did not have my act together, so I'm really sorry if you lost your tacky sweater contest because you were missing my tips. That's on me. Anyways. It's not even a little bit of a secret that I love Christmas sweaters. I also love anything that has to do with accessorizing my Christmas sweaters. So, feel free to use this as a guide, unless you're competition involves me, then pretend you never read this.. I'm lookin' at y'all, Atlanta Bloggers...
tacky christmas sweaters

hair accessories // I have been known to wear the bows intended for outside on giant trees in my hair. I'm not talking the ones that go on Christmas presents, I'm talking the ones that have wires attached to them so you can mount them on the fence. The bigger, the better when it comes to hair accessories. I'm talking gluing tinsel + tree ornaments to a headband. It ties the outfit together.

SOCKS // okay. I have an issue with matching socks, I think it's bad luck. So when I have Christmas socks, they usually don't match (weird fact  about my superstition, if I'm wearing matching socks, I'm probably wearing mismatched ones under them, you know, just in case..) socks can really tie your outfit together.
ugly sweater 5k

jewelry // My absolute favorite jewelry you can make yourself for less than $10. Michael's has a section dedicated to tiny Christmas trees. Grab the tiny Christmas tree ornaments of your choice, some earring hooks, and pliers, boom instant Christmas earrings. You can never go wrong with the oversized Santa ones that are already made either. Don't forget the necklaces that light up. ONE DAY I will have a sweater that lights up. one day.

hair //  I have always wanted to do the whole hairdo like a Who from Whoville thing, but I'm scared if I pulled all of my hair up like that I'd fall over... so I usually go with my braided pigtail look (more bows, duh)

THE SWEATER // Now, no pressure here. But the sweater is really what matters most. Obviously. The trick to getting the best sweaters though? shop for them in the summer. I get my Christmas sweaters at the Goodwill in like, June. It's the best because no one is really thinking oh I should totally be on the lookout for this year's sweater! in the middle of the summer. (maybe I shouldn't have shared this with the internet, now I'm going to have sweater competition in June...)

That's it! The easiest way to kick booty at your Christmas sweater party! Now. I want to see your tacky sweaters! You can always see mine on insta..

Confession: I Miss Weekly Confessions.

I won't lie, I love Write or Die Wednesday now. I'm also super excited for Hashtag Humpday this week. But I miss having a set day where I just rattle off the ridiculous things that have happened in my life. So, today's list is the top five most "I'm So Cute" moments I've had recently. Obviously, complete with gifs. [wait. is it "gifs" or ".gifs" or does it not matter?]

adventures with my pupillary distance // so I just about died with excitement when Frimoo offered to send me glasses for a review a week after I lost my health insurance, and a little more than a month before my vision prescription runs out. [um helloooooo perfect timing, right?] Well apparently PD is important + the eye doctor doesn't want to lose their revenue from eye glasses [legit, my last pair of glasses cost me five. hundred. dollars. so the businesswoman in me totally understands not wanting to give that revenue up] ANYWAYS. so I don't have a ruler, so my sister + I went to Publix and instead of buying the $1.99 protractor, tried to measure it in the store. Then we went to the new Warby Parker store in Buckhead where they measured it for me for free. I also promised I wouldn't blog about this. It's too funny not to share though.
I built a football watching fort // okay, so I haven't really blogged about it, but I've been going twenty million miles an hour for all of the weekends. I also don't think I have another free weekend until JANUARY. so Saturday I built a little fort out of the couch cushions, filled a cooler with beer and brought it into the living room, and laid on the sofa watching football for the entire weekend. I feel zero parts sorry about it. Best. Weekend. Ever.
people trust me around open flames // I left a candle burning. a three wick candle. burning in the apartment for four. hours. FOUR HOURS. there was almost zero wax left when I got home. it's a mystery to me how I haven't burnt a house down yet. [dear future landlords, please don't hold this against me. I only buy candles that are encased in glass. never the kind that are just like a wide open flame. somehow I feel like that makes it safer.
there's a whole floor of tiny human things at the new Restoration Hardware // Restoration Hardware just opened a six story incredible looking building. The fifth floor is solely tiny human things. I touched on how I don't know if I have a good grip on my decision to have my own tiny humans last week, but the tiny cheetah pajamas. and the tiny couches. and all of the other tiny human things. I couldn't deal. This man walked by me + Eva having issues over the tiny cheetah pajamas and literally laughed out loud at us. I mean. I know people laugh at me all the time, but I've never witnessed anyone LOL at me when I wasn't trying to be funny.
source
I paid a small child $8 for a homemade air freshener // so at the UGA Auburn game, this little girl, who couldn't have been but five years old, max.. walks up to me, tugs on my dress, and says "excuse me, ma'am, you look very beautiful today. would you like to buy an air freshener? I made them myself and I'm selling them because I want to be an entrepreneur when I grow up!" Obviously. I couldn't say no to a small child using a word that was bigger than her, so I gave her all my money. Now my car smells like some really aggressive strawberries....

Have you had any "I'm so cute" moments lately?

This Week's To-Do List

Okay, so I love all of the weekend adventures I've been going on. I'm not even going to complain about spending over 30 hours in the car in the span of two weekends. This weekend is a short trip to Athens, then next weekend I might not get out of bed once. I might hibernate. Can I catch up on three weekends worth of sleep in two days? Challenge accepted. Anyways, since yesterday I did my tour through blogland, we didn't catch up on weekly wishes!
last week's wishes::
that super fun craft project :: okay. this is finished + not finished. every pinterest tutorial saying that hot glue will hold together wine corks is a liar liar pants on fire. I put together my wine cork initial with hot glue, only burned myself twice and pulled my hair into the gun once [seriously, I need constant adult supervision..] but then as soon as it was all dry + cool, I stood it up to take the after picture for the blog, and the loop part of the P fell off. wtf mate. I'm going to try something else to stick them together, then I'll be pinterest famous because I'll have found the perfect wine cork bonding agent!
schedule at least four posts :: fail. get it together, self. I did start four different posts, that counts right?
minimal dining out :: SUCCESS. Last week I managed to not eat out at all. Actually. That is a lie. I did manage to not eat out using any of my dollars, which was the goal. To celebrate, yesterday I went to Kohl's and spent too much money stocking up on new tights (because all of mine have holes in them. not just runs, holes. I can't have anything nice.) and buying the perfect new gameday dress

this week's wishes::
clean the apartment :: Auburn weekend means lots of sleepover guests! It's actually pretty clean already, since my roommate had company last weekend.
two miles per day towards #100ByChristmas :: I don't want to lose any weight? But I want to stay skinny and maybe build some muscle, but really just make sure I can eat all the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and still be able to wear the clothes I already own to Europe.
LAST PAYMENT FOR EUROPE EVER:: I will have my whole 9 day trip paid off completely by next Wednesday. HOW cool is that? I've paid for an entire trip to Europe! I'm such a grownup.

What are your goals this week? Is ones of them to win $250? You should check out the giveaway Becca put together for her birthday!

Very Superstitious

"I'm not superstitious, just a little stitious..." That's really not a good way to describe me, but it's so fun to say! Anyways, let's find out just what I'm superstitious about!
Helene in Between Blogtober

watching or not watching a game on TV // so this goes season to season, this year, for example, I couldn't watch the Braves on TV. I swear they lost every game where I watched them on TV. I don't want that responsibility on my shoulders!

lucky dress // good thing it's a cute one. I didn't wear it once and the team lost, so obviously I have to keep wearing it until it doesn't work. Also, not sorry for posting this collage again...
yellow lights // I do that whole kiss the roof of the car thing, every time I go under a yellow light. I couldn't even tell you why, I'm just really sure that if I don't I will die. Obviously.

train tracks // under the same premise, when I go over train tracks I lift my feet up + put a finger on a screw. It's getting progressively harder as cars get fancier + don't have exposed screws anymore. I couldn't even tell you where I picked this one up at though.

don't talk about it // I will absolutely not talk about a no hitter, if my team is winning the game, if my kicker is on a streak, etc. I don't want to be the jinx. AFTER it's over, I'm totally gonna talk about it. But I will absolutely not say anything until it's over. I also don't believe my team will win until there are zero seconds left on the clock.

being picked to win certain games // it's rarely a good sign when we're favored over USC or Florida. Some years it's legit, but I feel like in the SEC it's any given Saturday.

my cocktail of choice // if I'm drinking something different than my normal tequila sunrise or mimosas, we don't seem to win. it seems like the key is orange juice. I don't wanna chance it though, so I'll just have a lot of vitamin C in my system...

where I sit // I have spots in the house I have to watch the game. Usually it's not even sitting, more standing + possibly pacing. It's really cute, you should really be watching sporting events with me.

things I'm not superstitious about, but most people are//
friday the 13th // for some reason it's actually a good day for me usually...
black cats/ladders/broken mirrors// I'm sure I'm jinxing myself about these things, but I haven't had that much of an experience with them one way or the other! I'm not much of a cat person though...

Obviously, this list changes regularly, usually getting longer rather than shorter.... How about you, what are you a little stitious about? Also, got this jam for y'all..

10 Things I'd Rather Spend My Paycheck On Than Student Loan Payments

So, the other day I got an e-mail from my student loan people, saying that I needed to pay them $498 by Halloween. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. I don't know what they're smoking, but it must be something good, because I definitely don't have $500 to throw at them.  That got me thinking about how I pay upwards of $250 a month + I haven't even touched the principal. Which is super encouraging, I'll probably pay them off six months after never. Obviously the best solution to that kind of depression is to list what I would rather spend that $250 a month on.

a car payment // I have the cutest little Jeep Liberty, named Jude, but I've wanted a Jeep Wrangler for my entire life.  So if anyone is reading on behalf of the Jeep company, I can make a pretty convincing argument as to why you should give me one. It starts with how cute would I look with the top down + the radio turned up?
source
a tropical vacation // I mean, if I were saving $250 a month, I wouldn't even have to save for but like four months + I could go to all sorts of tropical places.

more camera lenses // everyone argues that the Canon Kit lenses are better doorstops, so I could invest in all the fancy lenses. And photography classes...

someone to do my laundry + clean my closet // obviously.
source
a puppy. for sure // I mean. I neeed one. I haven't gotten one yet because I need to also be able to buy said puppy all the toys + halloween costumes + chewy toys his hear t
source
harry potter adventures // I would go to any and all of the Harry Potter adventures. Everywhere you can visit as a Harry Potter Fanatic.
source
all the clothes on my pinterest dream closet board // my life would be a constant fashion show + I would give the person I hired to clean my room a run for their money..
source
all the boxed wine + Jose Cuervo! // yeah, I wouldn't even buy fancy wine. I would just make sure we had a pretty constant supply of boxed wine, champagne, + my boyfriend Jose.
source
uga football season tickets // I somehow didn't get the email to register for the young alumni tickets, but I did get the e-mail to pay for the tickets [funny how that works, huh?]. I would make sure I was at every game fo'sho.
source
saving for the kasey dream house // yeah, what about it Barbie? I want my own dream house. Saving $250 a month, I could easily have a reasonable down payment in a year or so. Then I could do all of the DIY projects. Oh man. My house would be so awesome. Also it would totally have a slide like in Blank Check, super super practical.
source
Obviously, I don't have a solid grasp on what an extra $250 a month would do for my spending capabilities, but maybe you can find something good to do with $250 to Kate Spade Saturday!! What would you spend your $250 on?

Fall Bucketlist Status Update!

It's been three weeks since I set my Fall Bucket List, so surely it's time to check-in right? Right. Let's see how I've done so far!
Our Nashville Life
corn maze // not yet, fingers crossed on this weekend though!
bonfire + s'mores // I mean, is it even possible to have a bonfire without s'mores? [turns out, yes, because if it's too stinkin' hot to be near the bonfire, you won't want s'mores. fact.]
hike kennesaw mountain // planned! keep an eye out on Instagram for pictures!
pumpkin beer // this will probably be accomplished more than once, let's be real..
spiked apple cider // because apple cider needs a little Captain in it. I also found this recipe for caramel apple cider SANGRIA. sign. me. up.
oktoberfest in helen, ga // check out the recap here!
pumpkin patch // I need pumpkins for pumpkin crafts!!
hay rides // honestly this, the pumpkin patch, and corn maze will probably be one trip!
georgia/georgia tech game // planning this now!
camping // this is still a hard sell, I wonder if I could camp on my own + eliminate the search for a place to stay for GA/FL?
apple picking // the Ellijay Apple Festival is this weekend, anyone want to go?!

I'm thinking maybe I should add on a few more things to this list, what do you think it's missing?

Twenty Thoughts While Updating My Resume

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times, I'm still searching for that forever job. I've sent my resume countless places, tweaked it easily four thousand different times. I have a folder on my computer that has no less than twelve different versions I have updated in the past year. I hate resumes. During my last update, I jotted down my thoughts while trying to update my resume for yet another round of job applications.
  1. I hate that they're not supposed to have color. Black + white is so not my vibe.
  2. I don't think I can be described in bullet points, no matter how much I like to use them here.
  3. I genuinely cannot pick a font that is easy to read, fits with all of the information I have to put on one page, and also somehow helps me stand out.
  4. I always feel like I could explain any of the bullet points in so much more detail if you would just talk to me. I would gladly make a video resume if that was a legitimate thing.
  5. All of my recent volunteer work was done through my previous jobs, not a volunteer organization but I can't really put that into words for you.
  6. I haven't held a leadership role in any community positions because my career path causes me to move around keeping me from making two or three year commitments, but there's not a way to put that on there.
  7. What if this hiring manager only reads resumes in Times New Roman. Why why are there so many fonts? I really love fonts guys.
  8. I know my internship was four, almost five years ago, but don't they need to know I worked my way up? I started out unpaid?
  9. Do I give my major GPA or my cumulative GPA? because they're very different. If I give my major GPA because it's higher, will they think I'm hiding something? If I give my cumulative GPA will they think I'm an idiot since it's just barely over 3.0? Accounting was really hard at UGA. So were all of those classes I took when I was an engineering major.
  10. Are you sure I can't make my name like a logo? Can't I make it red? That would be so pretty.
  11. What if the hiring manager spells his name Casey + thinks I spelled mine wrong?
  12. Should I try to go by Kathleen? Is Kathleen more professional since it's my legal first name and Kasey is just what people call me because you cannot shorten it to Katie
  13. Oh wait I can't go by Kathleen because of what happens when you google search Kathleen Decker you get all of the stuff about that one Nets intern..
  14. What if the hiring manager went to UF and throws my resume away because I was told to put my education first instead of last?
  15. Should I reword the description of this event to focus more on my skills under pressure rather than the size and moving parts of the event?
  16. Does it sound braggy if I say it had the largest turnout in the history of the event? Or does that just show I did a good job?
  17. OH NO. Did I spell "detail oriented" right? Did I even put that on there?
  18. Do all of these bullet points line up?
  19. Crap what happens if they google search and end up on my blog and they don't like that I said I didn't like to wear shoes in my "about me" section?
  20. Oh, what happens if they go to my blog and see this list I should probably stop making this list.
As I was making this list the other day, I was also working on my cover letter. Can we just talk about how cover letters are the worst? Just read my resume, if I meet the qualifications, call me. What do you stress about when making your resume updates? Any suggestions? Also, linking up for Listed Tuesday, because obviously.

It's Fall, Y'all!

PSA:  IT FEELS LIKE FALL IN ATLANTA TODAY. So obviously, I would be a terrible blogger if I didn't talk about fall, sweaters, leggings, boots, and pumpkin spice lattes right? Right. So I'm making a fall goal list. I didn't do so hot on my summer bucket list, so here's hoping I'll do better on Fall!  I'm linking up for Listed Tuesdays + for my Fall Bucket List!
Our Nashville Life
corn maze // there are more options than you would expect for this in Georgia. like this one, this one, or this one!
bonfire + s'mores // I mean, is it even possible to have a bonfire without s'mores?
hike kennesaw mountain // the view from the top is already incredible, but when the leaves all change colors, I can't even explain.
pumpkin beer // DUH. Pumpkin beer is my favorite of all the seasonal beers. I'm so excited.
spiked apple cider // because apple cider needs a little Captain in it.
oktoberfest in helen, ga // okay this is cheating because we have it planned for next weekend, but beer and pretzels in Helen, count me in.
pumpkin patch // if you looked at the corn mazes, they're usually attached to pumpkin patches, hello, two birds, one stone.
hay rides // see above. also I love a good hay ride, is that just me? I'm never gonna grow up.
georgia/georgia tech game // this is thanksgiving weekend, in Athens, and there are few places prettier than Athens in the fall.
camping // this is going to be a hard sell, my friends like to sleep indoors. anyone want to go?
apple picking // there are four billboards on my way to work advertising apple picking. it looks like so much fun!

Things that felt like cheating to put on the bucket list: caramel apple treats, watching Hocus Pocus, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin shaped Reece's cups, and dressing up for Halloween. What's on your fall bucket list?

Wanderlust :: Ireland

Today's prompt for Blog Every [Week]Day in September is : If you could drop everything and get on a plane for a two week vacation right now, where would you go and why?

I can say this with zero hesitation or thought, Ireland. Hands down. Nowhere else comes close. I've wanted to travel to Ireland for as long as I can remember. I have family from there, as the lady at the DMV told me, I have a good Irish name, plus green is my favorite color. These are not all the reasons I want to go, it's hard to explain, but I feel like I need to go. My goal is to get there before my 29th birthday. Or for my 29th birthday, but that would be frigid.
image from here
Cliffs of Moher // This list was going to be places that aren't already on everyone's list, but these cliffs have to be on the list. Pictures are breathtaking, so I can't even imagine what they must be like in real life. Obviously I have to see them in person.

Leap Castle // I may hate horror movies, but I'm a little more than obsessed with ghosts and stories about places being haunted. This is rumored to be the most haunted of all of the fancy castles in Ireland.
image from trip advisor
The Titanic Museum in Belfast // I was obsessed with the Titanic before Kate + Leo got on it, but they definitely made me love it more, I was pretty bummed when I found out they weren't real people though. Obviously I couldn't be driving distance from the birthplace of the Titanic and not see it in person.

ALL of the Pub Crawls // I love a good Irish pub in America. I have never felt more like an idiot then when a waitress rolled her eyes at me for ordering "Smithwicks" and saying it like it's spelled, sorry I'm not a world traveler yet lady. Anyways, you can't read a guide to traveling Ireland without a pub crawl being mentioned. There are literary ones, historical ones, I'm hoping ghost related ones. I would be a fool not to crawl around the pubs.

I would really probably need more than two weeks in Ireland, but if I could go anywhere in the world right this minute, that's where I'd go. What else do I need to add to my list of things I absolutely must see when I get to Ireland?

Also, linking up for Listed Tuesdays!

17 Thoughts at 3 AM.

Hands down,  the best part of  apartment living is knowing too much about your neighbors right? No? Well our upstairs neighbors are the complete opposite of "quiet as a mouse." I first noticed it one day shortly after they moved in, when I was about to take a shower and it sounded like someone was literally knocking down our door. So the other night, when they woke me up at 3 am on a Wednesday, I decided to write down all of my thoughts. It's a fantastic list.
this picture has nothing to do with apartments, but when I saw it on Unsplash I hadta use it.
  1. are you elephants?
  2. did you get a pogo stick?
  3. but why are you jumping on a trampoline at 3 am?
  4. is hopscotch really necessary at this hour?
  5. was that a bowling ball?
  6. I wonder if they can teach me the river dance..
  7. why aren't you asleep?
  8. are you playing basketball? one year in college, we had really loud upstairs neighbors that we referred to as the River Dancers, finally we asked how they made so much noise, they were actually playing basketball...
  9. is there a dance club on the 4th floor that no one told us about?
  10. are you wearing steel toed combat boots?
  11. did you replace the carpets with hardwoods so that it would be louder?
  12. are you at least winning Dance Dance Revolution?
  13. have you broken your SkipIt record yet?
  14. that's a lot of screaming, should we call in the BAU?
  15. does the whole US Gymnastics team live up there? how's your floor routine coming along?
  16. do you EVER sleep?
  17. do you have a pet horse? or some equally large dog? if so why are you keeping her in that teeny tiny apartment?!
Our apartment has a pretty strict noise violation policy, so I'm a little more timid than my roommate to call the leasing office and complain. I'm assuming that's tied to the fact that I can't really tell when I'm shouting or using my "inside" voice. I always give everyone that benefit of the doubt... but y'all these girls are really loud. Anyways, I'm really glad Erica is back so I can link up for Listed Tuesday! Do you have rowdy neighbors?

How To Not Be A Big Fat Jerk in Three Easy Steps!

I haven't been to as many away games as I would like, but I have had the [dis]pleasure of interacting with more than my fair share of visiting team fans. I've learned that there are two types of visiting fans, the ones who love the game and the ones who are just big fat jerks. You don't want to be a big fat jerk when you come to Athens because we have that whole bar scene going, plus the whole "ain't nothin' finer in the land than a drunk obnoxious Georgia fan" See how we own that we're obnoxious? We're not above getting in your face if you're a jerk. Since I like making friends with other school fans, I put together a litte guide to help you not be the big fat jerk fan!

Easy Step One || be proud of your school. I always joke with fans from other schools that everyone makes mistakes but it's never a serious tone. I wouldn't trade being a UGA grad for a trillion dollars and ownership of the Atlanta Braves. If you're proud of your school, no one can fault you for that. If you didn't actually go to the school, just don't do anything to give anyone the idea that you're just a bandwagon fan. I'll never understand it, but there's really few things hardcore fans hate more than bandwagon fans.

Easy Step Two || be polite to the home team. Hey, you're in our city, our home, a place we adore. If you meet someone who went to UGA/is a UGA fan and they don't love Athens, they're pants should be on fire. Don't come into our city and our stadium and trash it. Don't you dare touch those hedges. If you're nice to the home team fans, especially in Athens, they'll be nice to you. Then it's appropriate to jokingly talk trash, because who doesn't like to talk trash? In my experience, the best way to make friends with the opposing team fans is to share a drink or some food. Sharing is caring, after all.

Easy Step Three || know when to stop taunting Everyone loves a close game, only one side loves a blowout. If you're sitting in the middle of a Georgia heavy section [especially if you made your way into the student section] and we're down by more possessions than anyone wants to count, don't be obnoxious about how you're scoring again. No one wants to get their booty handed to them at home. It hurts, you wouldn't want anyone taunting you when you're down 52-28 at home, so don't do it to us.

There you have it! Three easy steps that essentially come down to be the fan that you would want to hang out with. It's amazing, really, how true the golden rule [not to be confused with the platinum rule] is. I think "don't be a big fat jerk" is some seriously good overall life advice, don't you? Is there something visiting fans should know about your college town?
