17 Thoughts at 3 AM.

Hands down,  the best part of  apartment living is knowing too much about your neighbors right? No? Well our upstairs neighbors are the complete opposite of "quiet as a mouse." I first noticed it one day shortly after they moved in, when I was about to take a shower and it sounded like someone was literally knocking down our door. So the other night, when they woke me up at 3 am on a Wednesday, I decided to write down all of my thoughts. It's a fantastic list.
this picture has nothing to do with apartments, but when I saw it on Unsplash I hadta use it.
  1. are you elephants?
  2. did you get a pogo stick?
  3. but why are you jumping on a trampoline at 3 am?
  4. is hopscotch really necessary at this hour?
  5. was that a bowling ball?
  6. I wonder if they can teach me the river dance..
  7. why aren't you asleep?
  8. are you playing basketball? one year in college, we had really loud upstairs neighbors that we referred to as the River Dancers, finally we asked how they made so much noise, they were actually playing basketball...
  9. is there a dance club on the 4th floor that no one told us about?
  10. are you wearing steel toed combat boots?
  11. did you replace the carpets with hardwoods so that it would be louder?
  12. are you at least winning Dance Dance Revolution?
  13. have you broken your SkipIt record yet?
  14. that's a lot of screaming, should we call in the BAU?
  15. does the whole US Gymnastics team live up there? how's your floor routine coming along?
  16. do you EVER sleep?
  17. do you have a pet horse? or some equally large dog? if so why are you keeping her in that teeny tiny apartment?!
Our apartment has a pretty strict noise violation policy, so I'm a little more timid than my roommate to call the leasing office and complain. I'm assuming that's tied to the fact that I can't really tell when I'm shouting or using my "inside" voice. I always give everyone that benefit of the doubt... but y'all these girls are really loud. Anyways, I'm really glad Erica is back so I can link up for Listed Tuesday! Do you have rowdy neighbors?
Listed Tuesday

Weekly Wishes!

Update update update! Today doesn't feel like such a bummer of a Monday, it's probably because I think I slept about 98% of yesterday. Naps really matter y'all. SO I'm linking up my weekly wishes, updates on last weeks wishes, and updates on my monthly goals!!
weekly wishes + august goals!
update on last week's wishes ::
be productive at work – success! Except that I was so productive last week I have substantially less to keep me occupied this week…
clean the apartment – sort of success – we kept the common area pretty clean because people came over, my closet + bathroom still need some love though.
start saving for my camera – ACCIDENTAL SUCCESS. Mother nature intervened + kept us from really partying hard this weekend – so I saved all of the money I would have spent at the bar!
blog every day this week – ayooo another success – I even hit 10,000 page views!!!!!!!!!

august goals ::
pick three new blogs to sponsor for September  --  I have picked who I want to sponsor, now I just need to buy the space + create a new button! Plus, the meet-up last week was so great! So many new friends!
put my agenda to work – obviously a work in progress – I did add everything already planned to it though [including when I’m holding the blog baton in September!!!!]
run/walk/exercise three days a week – two days is close right?

this week’s wishes ::
streamline the blog layout + simplify it -- Jessica wrote in her blogger tips about creating a logo + streamlining your design as a blogger tip + my design is pretty ADD, like me, so it needs a little focus..
laundry laundry laundry -- part of the reason my closet needs so much love is because I have all of my laundry on the floor [sorted into loads, obviously.]
clean + wash my car -- poor Jude is covered in so many dead bugs you can't even tell it's a white car. whoooops.

What are your goals for this week? For inspiration, I will leave you with this video of the Manning brothers rapping about Fantasy Football, thanks Korked Bats...

New New New!

New job, new apartment, new CITY, new everything. There are so many things happening in my life right now I don't even know how to go about explaining them all. I don't even have pins for it! That's how crazy everything is.

New JOB.
This job is amazing, I love it, I'm so excited to see what doors may open and what I will get to learn. So far, I've learned that school board websites are super helpful, always to go to the fastest exit in case of an emergency, that if I can see the city from where I am at the ballpark, I'm facing North, that I can only take the service elevator during games, and that my voice carries even more than usual in cubeland.

New APARTMENT.
My parents decided to clean out the barn and my little brother's old room so now, somehow, I have an apartment full of furniture. I'll share pictures once the whole thing is decorated and set up - BUT I definitely turned a cheap piece of furniture into a super chic, faux-antique dresser, and some really drab & dull wicker furniture into very Highlands appropriate patio furniture. Obviously, tons of pictures will appear soon. I've even kept the whole thing clean for the first week and a little bit we've lived here - so here's hoping that keeps up!

New CITY.
Y'all. I live in Atlanta now. THE REAL ATLANTA. If we weren't on the first floor we'd have a pretty nice view of the skyline. We're literally 10 minutes from everything we could ever want. Downtown? Midtown? Little Five? Buckhead? Lenox Mall? All just like, a couple of miles up the road. It. Is. Amazing. Literally everything I've ever imagined and then some.

Here's hoping the next 11 months are amazing and that I am able to soak up all of the knowledge I could possibly hope to gain. I am so excited for this adventure!
