Thursday Things I DON'T Get

I was reading Whitney's post about being trendy and it got me thinking about the trends I just can't seem to catch up to either. So here are some things that I will probably never get a firm grasp on.

snapchat :: I'm still pretty sure that snapchat was invented for inappropriate pictures -- but I never feel like I come across anything worth only sending for 6 seconds. I'm probably just going to send you an actual picture in text message from. also I am pretty much the last person to be taking a 'selfie' -- so that's also probably another reason I don't get them..

edm :: my little brother loves EDM. So do lots of people I know. I just don't get it. I don't have the coordination to dance to it, it kind of makes my head spin, and I can only really see using it as workout music because it's all super upbeat and usually a combination of other songs. The closest I can get to being into any of it is the GirlTalk I remember for college. Give me a jam band any day.

those tall nike workout socks with sandals :: just when did socks and sandals become acceptable? What is so great about these workout socks that makes one pair worth like $25? We bought some for my cousin for Christmas and I couldn't get over it. First off, I believe that matching socks are bad luck, second off you could buy like thirty pairs of those little socks that go right below your ankle for that. What makes those weird lines up the back of your legs cool? AND WHY are you wearing them with sandals?

hair tutorials on pinterest ::  I try SO HARD to have fun mermaid hair + to get any of these "easy to do" hairstyles to work. THEY JUST DON'T WORK. I literally threw a temper tantrum because I couldn't have mermaid hair. Also -- when I try the whole messy bun thing it just looks like a bird's nest is on top of my head. obviously putting flowers in it doesn't help..

why can't I have mermaid hair?!

Maybe I'm just too old to get snapchat + too uncoordinated to manage mermaid hair. I'll never give up on the pinterest hairstyles!
