Oh Heeeeey Monday

First of all. I watched that episode of Grey's yesterday. Even with the social media spoilers, I was not prepared at all. Like. SHONDA. Come on. Like. I knew it was going to happen, but that didn't stop me from ugly crying on the sofa in the middle of the day over a TV program. So. Since I'm still reeling from that + the events of last week, I thought I would share some fun internet things! First of all, SATURDAY Jen, her manly friend, and I went TO SPACE JAM NIGHT with the Charleston Riverdogs. We did not get the Bill Murray jerseys though.

First of all. I am a lover of all things flower related. ESPECIALLY the ones you can wear in your hair. I've seen the pinterest DIY's + failed miserably at them. BUT. I have recently seen two tutorials I know I can do + make them look pretty. First, Michelle's Reign inspired flower crown is SO pretty. THEN TODAY Helen made this adorable mermaid like one. So, I'm making a flower crown this week. It's happening.
Up next, I found this on pinterest while trying to decide how to do my hair for a job interview. (side note, guys have it so easy. wake up, hair already done.) So obviously I made my parents watch Kimmy Schmidt after finding it, because then I had an excuse to watch them all again! hasbrown no filter.

LAST but not least, did you catch this? I have been known to spend hours on solid reddit threads, you just kind of get lost in the theories. BUT THIS IS A HARRY POTTER ONE that might explain why the Durselys were so terrible.

So there you go, Monday! I hope you're coffee is strong + your workday is surprisingly short. What's new with everyone?

A Little Monday Motivation

OH HEY MONDAY. Sometimes, sometimes y'all I feel bad for Monday. Why does Monday catch such a bad rap? (wrap? huh. they both look right....) I am probably the most productive on Monday mornings, to be honest. I think it's because everyone is so down on Monday that we already set the bar for being a person pretty low, which makes it pretty easy to knock it out of the park. Right? Anyways, in case SOMEBODY has a case of the Mondays, I have some motivational stuff for you!

Let's get this started off with a little humblebrag huh? Helene picked one of MY PICTURES for her Instagram highlight Saturday. I did a little bit of a celebratory dance, so come at me. Its the little things in life you guys.

UP NEXT. I learned the best trick in the entire world. I am not taking any credit for this. I just can't remember what blog I read it on at the moment. BUT THERE IS A "RECIPE" FOR MAKING INSTAGRAM PICTURES SHOW UP AS NATIVE PICTURES IN THE TWITTER. I swore I pinned the article after I did the signing up + such. ANYWAYS. You just create an account at If This, Then That + use THIS RECIPE. THEN when you Instagram a picture, you don't send it to twitter, the app automatically does it for you. HOW. COOL. IS. THAT? See below:
HOW COOL IS THAT!? Okay. Now, while I'm in mostly all caps, LET ME REMIND YOU ABOUT THURSDAY'S BIG ANNOUNCEMENT -- this coming Thursday is the first of our 7th Inning Stretch Linkup + we can't wait to see everyone!! What is getting you pumped this manic Monday?

Monday Motivations

Okay, don't kick me out of the blogger club, but I didn't watch the Oscars last night. That's a lie, I watched probably four minutes and then turned on Netflix instead. I didn't even finish catching up on all of the TV I've missed while doing 30 days at the barre. (PS. TODAY IS HALFWAY. TODAY IS DAY 15. I'm also a bad blogger there because I didn't take a "before" picture. oops. maybe I'll take a halfway picture..) ANYWAYS. Here are some fantastic things I've found on the internet that make it hard to remember that I put my shoes on the wrong feet today + people think that it's important to talk about whether or not women should be allowed to wear yoga pants in public.
Tours For Humanity:: A buddy of mine from high school + his kickass girlfriend plan to save the world one tour of DC at a time. I've never met anyone as passionate about US History as Bo, and I don't think I could imagine a better tour director. So go check out their Indiegogo page, it features a fantastically hilarious video about their dream.
THESE KIDS who definitely don't think that Kanye introduced the world to Paul McCartney::

My favorite North Carolina resident TRANSPORTED PELICANS ON SATURDAY. Also, my life coach + megababe friend Jen just started blogging too. She's the Quarterlife QB OH AND SHE GOT ALL UP IN SOME MLB SOCIAL MEDIA TRASH TALKING

And that's all I have today! Here's a song I've been jamming to since I heard it at the end of barre class a couple days ago. Don't forget to enter to win $300 to Antrhopologie! What's up with you this gloomy Monday morning?

Monday Motivations

I just did some Facebook stalking for the group of people I'll be going to Amsterdam/London/Paris with over NYE and realized I'm going to be the trip grandma. I'm hoping they call me "Cool Aunt Kasey" before "Grammy K" but I'm having a super hard time dealing with it.
this is actually A PRINT YOU CAN BUY!
I saw this on Pinterest the other day and had one of those "THIS!" moments. I feel like I'm constantly giving the advice of  "if they gossip to you, they gossip about you." I'm so thankful that I have so many positive and encouraging friends in my life.

Also, I found this article, 8 Lessons I Want to Teach My Daughter. I think it could be called 8 Lessons We Should All Try to Remember. I love it. "In every tough situation, try kindness first" "don't complain unless you can offer a solution" "be present" I think these are all excellent lessons we should all live by.

Monday Motivations

The pollen count today is 3495. I woke up + my eyes were swollen closed. So today I'm very thankful that it has turned into a rainy Monday. Maybe the rain will wash all of the pollen away + my car will be white again, rather than the gross yellow it was yesterday.

Weekly Wishes :: Two + Motivational Monday

As the state of Georgia is preparing for the second snowstorm in as many weeks -- I am doing everything I can to pretend it's just going to be almost in the 60's all week like it was this weekend. I'm really just ready for spring. Baseball games, sundresses, + longer days -- bring it on.
First -- how did I do last week? I crushed those goals. This might be the most accomplished I've felt during free agency. First of all, it didn't take me that long to clean my room -- cleaning out my closet definitely helped. Second -- I have no idea why I've been putting off my passport. It took more time to get my picture made than it did for anything else. I was inside the courthouse for maybe ten minutes. I even left the house every single day. Once to get coffee + a new book, the rest to be a real productive person.

So -- week two:

one :: get to the new kickboxing gym I found. The first class is free -- so I can decide if that's my gym to join in February. They have flexible membership options but no website. The lack of website really gives me pause -- but they have so many positive reviews on their Facebook page. What's the harm in taking a free class anyways?

two :: drink three of my big Tervis tumblers full of water every day. Hand-in-hand with my February goal for no cokes all month -- more water is always important. I need to get in the habit before it gets to be summer because I always forget to hydrate in the summer.

three :: read through + figure out the Tone It Up Nutrition Plan. I really want to commit to this -- but even as I write this goal I start to back out of it. Everyone raves about this + I need to check it out.

I have a little bit of a rant for your Monday Motivation. Why do you feel bad on Valentine's Day being a single person? Why should you? Valentine's Day seems like it's a lot of pressure for those in a relationship -- but it shouldn't be if you're not. Why not take Valentine's + celebrate yourself? Love yourself. How can you love someone else if you don't love yourself? You are awesome. Just ask Kid President. Take Valentine's Day + be your own reason to dance! Get a manicure, make yourself some coffee, buy that pair of shoes you wanted -- whatever you do -- just take the day to celebrate yourself.

Free Agency Survival -- Or How to Survive Unemployment

Today is day 52 of Free Agency (I haven't quite decided if I should capitalize that or not...) and I'm still hopeful that a team will pick me up soon. That being said -- I have had a job since I was 15 years old. I have always worked + having all of this free time is new to me. To be honest? I'm incredibly bored. I apply for anywhere between 5 - 10 jobs every week but that's not nearly enough to keep me occupied. So here are some things that I have found help me get through the lull in activity.

Rediscover Your Pinterest Obsessions:
Remember when Pinterest first surfaced + you sat for hours scrolling through pins + planning dream weddings, setting outrageous fitness goals, pinning recipes you would never try but want people to think you're going to.

For example -- I have one titled Offseason Projects with tons of arts + crafts ideas that I've never had the time to do. I have the time now, but I can't guarantee I'll be successful with any of the projects. They're nice to imagine + you can spend hours on Pinterest...

Learn a New Hobby
Technically, this blog is my new hobby. I'm also stalking the internet for how-to tips on Photoshop + Web Design. I know the basics -- but I'm a little rusty. So the layout here will probably change on a weekly basis until I get something super fun. For example -- it took me like seven tries to make my "About Me" graphic one I liked..

See?
Work Out
I could completely + 100% spend my entire day laying in my bed eating cookie dough + getting fat. By that same logic -- I have no good excuse to not be physically active. I have all day to do whatever. I struggle a little bit with the whole home workout -- but I'm trying to wait out the "New Years Resolution" gym members. Instead I try these ridiculous workouts I find on -- you guessed it -- Pinterest.
obviously if it helps new mommies have better abs, it will help mine?
READ!
I have always been an avid reader -- but usually my reading is limited to poolside on rare off-days in the summer. Lately? Plenty of time to read! I read the entire Divergent series in three days. I highly recommend it even though it will break your heart.

Originally when I started this post I was going to make lots of jokes -- like keep the liquor cabinet stocked because Jose Cuervo is always your friend, watch cartoons in your underwear, + other ridiculous things. Somehow it turned into something productive instead of funny. So there's that!
