April Showers Bring May Flowers

I'm really not sure how we made it to May already. Wasn't it New Year's like, last week? We're on pace to set a record high temperatures here today in Georgia and I chickened out taking the doors off Penny Lane, the Jeep, because I was very unsure of my upper body strength. If you've been following me on instagram you'll know that some of my flowers are blooming! I have a super power, that is my ability to kill every plant I want to keep alive and somehow the weeds I try to kill stay thriving. I always spend somewhere around $100 any time I walk into a garden center, I love flowers. They just don't always love me back.

We had a rather wet April AND March this year, plenty of pollen, so the flowers I do have in my garden right now are THRIVING and I need to document it. So, without further ado, please enjoy some of my favorite flowers blooming at this exact moment.

Yes. There are lots of weeds in all of these beds. I'm fighting a constant battle with them, but my end goal is to get the beds, especially in front of the house, to look like a cottage garden. The cottage garden look is almost an over planted bed, so there are just flowers EVERYWHERE. No need for mulch and you either don't have or can't see the weeds. Patience isn't my strongest virtue, so I have to keep telling myself that plants take three years to really be happy. First year they sleep, second year they creep, third year they leap.

Standby, because coming your way very soon will be the adventure I undertake trying to build my own raised bed to plant vegetables in. I'm sure my retelling of however it's going to go down won't be quite as hilarious as the actual activity, but you know I'm an accident waiting to happen. How are your gardens doing?

Five For Friday!

WE MADE IT GUYS. This week was a long one, I really wasn't sure we would make it to Friday. It was one of those weeks when Tuesday felt like Thursday and you just couldn't catch up. I wish that today was Saturday though, because it's supposed to be sunny and 80 degrees today, but rain tomorrow. Can I just get a sunny Saturday please?
1// Hot. Yoga. Y'all. yesterday I took a FIVE THIRTY AM hot yoga class at be yoga. It kicked my butt, but it was awesome at the same time. My core is still sore today. Remember that time I did 30 days at the barre?! I don't think I could do 30 straight days of this, but I think I might stick to once a week or something...

2// We're getting SO CLOSE to Beauty and the Beast. I'm seriously considering buying this shirt to wear to the premiere. I need everyone's input please. It looks so soft and comfy! But also I'm allegedly an adult, so does that make it a frivolous purchase?

3//Wanderlust. I subscribe to all of those travel deal e-mails and it's killing me. I want to buy one of the trips that are on flash sale and just jump on a plane. I confess, I enter all of the sweepstakes that they tease me with too. I know the odds of winning are about the same as winning the actual lottery, but you can't win if you don't play, right? Turns out heavy planning for Ireland & Scotland next summer isn't tiding me over. Have you been anywhere exciting lately? Can I go with you next time?

4// House of pups. I've been dog sitting this week, so there are more dogs in the house than humans. I mean, there's just Albus & Little Bear, but still. Albus was so stressed out about a dog being in his house while he was in his crate, that I've been letting him stay outside of the crate. We're 2 for 2 on days out of the crate without destroying anything, so hopefully we make it a perfect three for three today.

5// Kroger. Flowers. I bought the manager's special daisies on Super Bowl Sunday, they're STILL pretty in their little vases all around the house. I don't know if we've ever talked about my obsession with daisies, but they're my absolute favorite flower ever. They just make a room so happy and bright and I just love them. Not that I'm too picky about any flowers that are beautiful, but feel free to make it a drinking game every time my instagram features them. I think this one yesterday makes at least three since I brought them home...
What were the highlights of your week? Do you have your Beauty & the Beast tickets yet?

Earth Day!

Hey, if you expected anything other than an Earth Day post from your friendly, should have lived in the 60's, flower child, then you haven't been paying attention. Let's start with Jared Leto telling us what kind of animal he'd be according to the google doodle today.

You should totally take the quiz too. Aren't you glad I have so many productive things for you to do? Turns out I'm a pangolin + practical knowing when to curl up? Now. If Jared Leto can't convince you that the earth is the best, here are a bunch of adorable animal bffs.
I originally meant for this to be longer, but I just keep watching the friends furever + singing about Robin Hood + Little John. So, I'm going to accept defeat + go outside to instagram some flowers. What are you doing to make Mother Earth a better place today? I bet it's a really good day to go to the zoo!

Bloom

Okay. I thought that I broke blogger for a solid 24 hours. That was pretty terrifying. I apparently didn't, but you have to let me know if tomorrow's post looks weird or comes out in all HTML or whatever. ANYWAYS. I'm baaaaaaaaaaaack for Write or Die Wednesday!

Guys. I don't know if you have noticed or not, but I have a thing for flowers. I love them. I need fresh flowers in my house. All. The. Time. Did you know today's pollen count is 2,256? Yesterday, when I was driving to the gym, the air was yellow. There was so much pollen that THE AIR WAS TOO SATURATED WITH POLLEN TO BE CLEAR. It's okay. BECAUSE FLOWERS.

If you don't already accept the obsession, let's take a quick instagram check.

I even have pens at my desk that are wrapped in florists tape with big fake flowers at the top. I might have a problem. But. But. But. They're just so pretty. I think they make the world so happy. What do you think?
