Friday Favorites

HAPPY FRIDAY! This has been the longest week, since the last time I said it was the longest week. Every day this week has felt like Friday, except for today. So, I thought I'd share some Friday Favorites!

This Sunday, Albus turns THREE YEARS OLD. That's 21 in dog years. Of course his birthday happens to fall on Father's Day this year, so we'll have to get a little creative with the celebration. I saved his BarkBox to open on Sunday and I think I might make him some pupcakes. Last year I got this Nerf Gun, which was just as much a present for me as it was for Albus... I feel like since I held the BarkBox, I don't need to get him a toy. Maybe a dapper new collar? I'm really cutting it close here on a birthday present...

Last night, Taylor Swift dropped a new single, and I am a fan. I've almost listened to it enough times to know all of the words at this point...

I started reading Born A Crime last night, because my library is silly about their hold times. I'll put books on hold and they say "oh it'll be about two months" and then a week later I get an email saying my books are ready, so I also picked up The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo so it's a big reading weekend for me this weekend!

I've also been LOVING Influenced the Podcast -- I am very late to the whole podcast bandwagon, I have a hard time focusing on people talking while I'm driving, but I love this one! Everyone should listen to it, blogger or not. It's fun and I honestly feel like I'm just chatting with a couple of friends while I drive home. In case you're wondering, sometimes I do respond out loud. It gets a little weird when I have the top down and it happens at a light. I just lean into it & pretend I'm on call on the bluetooth (which my car doesn't even have hahahahaha)

Also, bonus, one thing I'm not loving. My instagram engagement has been super weird, so I tried to task myself with posting something every day in June, to see if maybe consistency would make it better? Then I got so stressed out trying to come up with something I wanted to post on Wednesday of this week, that I let myself not accomplish that goal. I don't want to put any kind of content out there that's half assed or forced. (A thing Lindsay & Christine hit on in the podcast that day, maybe they're related....) Have you been fighting with Instagram lately too?

one // I don't subscribe to the "quantity over quality" school of thought in anything, especially something that is my brand. so if I ever miss a day, it's because I genuinely couldn't put together a quality post and I don't want to waste anyone's time (mine included) that being said -- I'm not sorry. So. there.

two // Sunday is the Q&A call for our #AllStarSlimdown !! So if you're thinking about it, if you've ever though about the 24 Day Challenge or anything AdvoCare related -- you should totes mcgotes join us!

three // I have a super fun, fancy pants wedding to go to this weekend. SO I did Rent the Runway (if you click that + haven't used RTR, we both get $20!) + I ordered this show stopper that runs way. too. small. I almost cried. I put it on in the bigger size than I usually wear + it wouldn't fit. like. a half size bigger would have been perfect. but oddly enough it didn't come in anything larger than a 6L. SO I called, their customer service kicks. ass. they over-nighted me a new dress + it. is. perfect. I can't wait to share pictures! 

four // Jude is all better! Thanks for all the concerns. Apparently it was leaking coolant. We don't know where from, but they put a new cap on the "reservoir" + put in new coolant for me. The AC is colder now. so that's cool!  (heh heh heh...)

five // SHORT WEEKS ARE ALWAYS LONGER THAN NORMAL WEEKS. Have you noticed that? Anyways, here are five of my favorite posts from this week!! Friday Favorites!

Can we go back + just make yesterday Friday? The weather was soooooooooooooo pretty + it was warm + sure felt like Friday. Today it's all cold + gloomy. How did it even get so cold? Like. what's up Mother Nature? I thought we were good. 

OKAY BUT HAVE YOU HEARD KACEY MUSGRAVES NEW JAM? She's basically my spirit animal. Mad props to Jen for making me listen to it that first time.

SPEAKING OF INSTAGRAM. I'm pretty sure St. Patrick's Day didn't even happen because Sarah didn't instagram it, (oh hey, and neither did I...) Caroline pointed out that we've fooled them , and Helene hit it on the head about why she follows you on Instagram. Now I will shamelessly embed another insta because I can. Sorry 'bout it.

The Around The Horn linkup is over (big sad face here. this is not a favorite) BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS everyone loved it + I had SO MUCH FUN -- so I'm brainstorming a new linkup with Allison! Any ideas? FRIDAYY

So we have games all weekend, meaning that today's not quite the start of a weekend, for me anyways. HOWEVER I didn't do Thursday Things this week, then I found this whole "Hey Friday" linkup so I'm using it as an excuse to share the five best things that happened this week. Duh.

First of all. THIS. The Braves went on a nice winning streak and promptly decided to go on a losing streak. Last night, we snapped the losing streak, and in the trend of "distraught Mets fans" I bring you this man,  feeling like we have probably all felt at some point.

Second of all. There are few things I love more than when Bryce Harper does something stupid. Just makes me a really happy camper. So when I stumbled across THIS article about him trying to break his bat mid temper tantrum and failing, I had to watch it a hundred times.

THIRD we're so close to football season I can just taste it. We've booked our room for the Clemson vs UGA game and UGA Football shared this update this morning. Fifty days is LESS THAN TWO MONTHS! I obviously need a new gameday dress for the occasion.

Along with the hotel room for Clemson, we also booked a room for recruitment. I haven't been back for recruitment since I graduated. [Fun fact, senior year I had my wisdom teeth taken out the first day of recruitment and I was back for recruitment by Philanthropy round.] So that means I'll be back in Athens TWICE in August. Doing hoodrat things with my friends.

FIVE! "Tommy La Stella girlfriend" is still the leading search term to find my blog. I'm gonna count that as a favorite. My post about how I didn't agree with the LinkedIn article got so much positive feedback -- so y'all are just all the bomb.com. I even planned an interview series with some of my favorite people in the sports industry -- so get excited to see more pictures like this one!
